The Inspiration Behind ‘Wild Thyme Kitchen’

Although the creation of Wild Thyme Kitchen was inspired by many extraordinary women, it honors two women in particular who have always believed in me and in my dreams from the start: my sassy Cuban mom, Cary, and my Italian mother-in-law, Nina.

I will never take for granted the lessons they have taught me, and the sacrifices they have made, as I am truly lucky to have had them in my life. Mom, Cary, thank you for never giving up on me, I hope that I will continue to make you proud.

My sassy Cuban mom, who made all of our family’s favorites with SAZON, taught me how to cook like her and how to host the most extravagant parties.

My Italian mother-in-law, whose kitchen ALWAYS had something mouth-watering simmering away on the stovetop, and had the most contagious laugh, taught this Cuban girl through love and patience how to craft her delicious family recipes, which was a feat all on its own.

Even today I can still hear her laughter from the first time I attempted to make her delicious SUGO (red sauce). To say the least, it did not come out anywhere as amazing as hers.

About the Owner

I love what I do; I love to make people happy, as I truly believe that good food brings people together. To me, cooking is the creative outlet that frees my soul.

I never thought that I would love to cook for others as much as I do, but I do! Cooking brings me such joy.

To see someone take that first bite and observe their initial “no lie” reaction to what I have created is thrilling. Ultimately, this is why I finally decided to share my love of food and cooking outside of my home and opened my first business, Sweet Isa Catering, which operated from 2007 to 2020. Since then it has been a whirlwind.

I hope that you too will come by Wild Thyme Kitchen and taste for yourself the love and appreciation that I have for both my ingredients and vision. My passion for feeding my friends and family has expanded and now allows me to share my love for food and tradition with the City of Brantford and the surrounding areas!

I look forward to sharing a meal with you!

Warm regards,

Isabel “Isa” Tancredi.

This place and the owner/staff are just wonderful! Everything I've tried from the freezer has been so flavourful and fresh and the soup and sandwiches are equally as tasty! The meat lasagna is one of the best I've ever had so much cheese and meat, the enchiladas are huge and stuffed with meat beans and corn. And the chicken parm with the side of pasta was perfection! A must try!

My life was just changed by a sandwich. The hot sandwiches here are the best in town for sure. Don't waste your time at subway. This place is legit. The Cubanita sandwich is out of this world. Very authentic, meat was so tender and delicious. Great staff at the front. Owner Isabella is a sweetheart. They have a fridge full of prepared food to cook at home as well as some great baked treats. Check this place out, you won't regret it.
